Resveratrol is a polyphenol and natural antioxidant that contributes to collagen production, supports cellular regeneration, and offers long-term protection against aging.

Ceramides are essential lipids that help maintain the integrity of the skin barrier. They bind skin cells together, keeping them tightly joined to form a protective barrier that resists external factors such as pollution, irritants, and pathogenic microorganisms.

In older adults, there is about a 30% decrease in lipids in the outer layer of the skin, with a particularly pronounced drop in ceramide levels. As we age, the skin becomes thinner, more wrinkled, and loses elasticity. Ceramide levels in the stratum corneum decrease significantly between ages 26–29 and 57–60.

The primary dietary source of these lipids comes from plants, especially grains. In recent years, several studies have evaluated ceramide supplementation, and the results support that supplementing with ceramides improves skin barrier integrity, hydration, elasticity, and repair.

Hyaluronic acid is a molecule found in the skin, joints, and tissues, known for its ability to retain water (up to 1,000 times its weight). In skincare, hyaluronic acid acts as a humectant, drawing in water and maintaining skin hydration.
